European Conference on Visual Perception
23-27 August 2026
Bournemouth, UK

Welcome to the 48th European Conference on Visual Perception,
which will take place in Bournemouth, Great Britain from Sunday 23th to Thursday 27th August 2026!

In 2026, ECVP will be hosted in the city of Bournemouth (GB). Bournemouth is a vibrant university town with over 19,000 students, a growing academic and research community, and a total population of around 200,000. Located on the south coast of England, it sits along the English Channel and is surrounded by areas of natural beauty, including the Jurassic Coast and the New Forest National Park.

Bournemouth is a lively coastal town in southern England, home to over 19,000 students and a strong academic community, including both Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth. Known for its seven miles of sandy beaches, Bournemouth also features well-kept gardens, Victorian architecture, and a varied cultural life. It has a long history as a seaside resort and is now also recognised for its focus on creative industries, digital technology, and environmental research. Bournemouth is well connected by public transport, with direct trains to London and good access to major airports, including Southampton and Heathrow.

The conference will feature a diverse program of keynote lectures, symposia, talks, poster presentations, and workshops. The social programme includes the Welcome Reception, the Illusion & Demo Night, the Conference Dinner (separate registration required), and the Farewell Party. We are excited to bring back two popular innovations from the last ECVP: the PerceptioNite, a networking event for everybody (young at heart <3), and the Spotlight in Vision keynote lecture, which will highlight new and relevant findings in vision science.

Researchers at all levels are encouraged to submit symposium proposals, conference abstracts and contributions for the Illusion & Demo Night through an open call process.

We look forward to welcoming you in Bournemouth!

The ECVP 2026 website is now online.
The call for symposia is open. Please see the submissions page.

Do you have a classic illusion that never fails to fascinate? Or maybe a brand-new illusion or demonstration of some amazing stimuli? Whatever it is, ECVP needs to see it! Contact us to submit a proposal for your illusion or demo:
